This tool comes out of PBLWorks.org and research they have done to produce teachers to be ready to incorporate project based learning right out of the gate when they begin their teaching career. Out Of The Gate is a website that focuses on best practices in project based learning and can really help any teacher whether they are experienced or not in implementing project based learning into their classrooms. What is great about it, is that the website contains premade projects called Model Projects that anyone can pick up right now and do with their students. The projects come with plans on how to run them, aligned to standards, and broken down by subject and grade level. They also can be adapted to fit a teacher’s class or teaching style. On top of pre-made Model Projects, the site also lists best practices under their Strategies section that help anyone with how to create and run a project in their class. Finally, the site links to My.PBLworks.org where you can sign up for free and gain access to more project based learning resources.
