In todays world media literacy is vitally important, and teaching it in schools has become a part of the curriculum for many classes. The News Literacy Project aims to help teachers, students, and the general public become more media literate. They have tools on their website like Checkology that allows teachers to assign media literacy lessons. They also have weekly guides on current events, and tips and tools to help people grow their news literacy skills. Much of the general public struggles to separate facts from opinions and what is truthful from outright lies. The News Literacy Project is a tool we can use to help our students not fall victim to what so many of the general public struggle with.
