Finding out what your students know at the end of the lesson is great but finding out what they know during the lesson is even better. With Spiral, teachers can take formative assessments in real time. These assessments can be done at the same time for both in person and remote learners. Spiral works by students signing into a teacher’s room with a short unique URL and a code. Once the students are in the room, teachers can ask quick poll questions, push out premade questionnaires, give a presentation with embedded questions in it, or send students an edited video that has questions linked to it like EdPuzzle. This is a great tool for formative assessments that is currently free for teachers during COVID.
