Poll Everywhere is another great formative assessment tool for the classroom. The free version allows for a maximum of 25 students in a class which may not be suitable for all classes. If your class is less than 25 students than this is a great tool to check out. To use Poll Everywhere, simply make an account and create a new activity. Activities can also be tied to your PowerPoints and Google slides with integration of the Poll Everywhere add-on. In each activity, the teacher has the ability to choose from a variety of questions types from short answer, multiple choice, thumbs up/down, wordclouds, clickable image, competition based, and more. After the teacher has created an activity, students sign into the teachers room using a unique identifier, and as the teacher goes through the lesson students will be able to answer the questions the teacher has created. While the students answer the questions, the teacher will be able to see student responses which can be used to guide instruction in real time. At the end of the lesson, the teacher can get a data sheet of student responses for their documentation, lesson reflection, and planning.
