Whatever this setting is set to stays until it is changed. At times the setting gets set by accident. The symptom is that when replying to an email the text of the original email and the text of the response is too small to read.
To fix click reply on a message 
Click format
Click the zoom button
You may have to click in the body of the email to set the cursor to enable the zoom button.
Change the zoom to %100
